IPL 2020: Royal Challengers Bangalore give a 'royal saluteto the frontliners
Skipper Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn thank these heroes for keeping them safe
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have thanked the frontliners in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and have given a 'royal salute' in appreciation for their selfless efforts.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli, South African batsman AB de Villiers and compatriot pace ace Dale Steyn thanked these heroes for keeping them safe during these unprecedented times.
"If jerseys could talk, this one would have said thank you," said AB de Villiers.
The 36-year-old, who has been an integral part of RCB since 2011, has seen it first hand with his father Abraham B de Villiers and mother Millie working on the frontline and he had a special message for his parents.
"Let me tell you about my Real Challenger. That is my dad. He's a general practitioner from back home in South Africa, who worked on the frontline during the Covid pandemic. He put himself on the line. My mum also helped in the practice. And I'm very proud to be their son," he said.
Just like AB's parents, we all know of real challengers in our lives who have been fighting on the frontline during this pandemic. Share their stories with us using #MyCOVIDHeroes #WeAreChallengers
